Forgiven Skate Church exists to lead and disciple the extreme sports community of Oklahoma into a genuine relationship with Christ while also developing leaders primed to be culture changers in this world.
Forgiven Skate Team was started in September of 2012 by Charles Steiger. Charles and his kids all shared a love for skateboarding. That love would take them to South Lakes Skate Plaza in OKC, it was there that Charles felt the need to start a bible study. Through a local skate shop, Oklahoma Cheap Skates, Darrin Zdanowski and Charles crossed paths. Together they reached out to the local skate community by sharing the gospel and supporting the skate scene, this is where Forgiven Skate Church began.
June 2014 Industrial Skatepark in Norman became Forgiven’s home, where they held bi-monthly skate studies. In January of 2015 Industrial moved to Downtown OKC and Forgiven Skate followed. With this change Forgiven was able to move to weekly church services.
Since moving to OKC, Forgiven has grown in both size and support. Today Forgiven Skate Church is steered and directed by a very diverse and gifted leadership board lead by Darrin Zdanowski. Together we are building a local Church to evangelize, serve and disciple the Extreme Sports community in the OKC metro area.
Forgiven is dedicated to inspiring a relationship with Christ through the Church, skateboarding culture and lifestyle. Our overall purpose and goal is to help the local Extreme Sports community by providing a safe environment where they can grow in their craft, hear about the love of Jesus and be discipled through the local Church.
The future of Forgiven is BRIGHT and we feel the Spirit of God is moving us into a new season of work. We are looking forward to sharing all that is ahead very soon! God bless.

Growing up as a military brat I moved every 3-6 years. I started skating at 10 but didn’t really find the love for it till I was 13 during my stay in England. At 15, we moved to Texas where Football became my life. I joined the Air Force out of high school and did not pick up a skate board again till I was 35. Growing up my journey to Christ was a sporadic Chreaster (Christmas and Easter), I was pulled between the Catholic and Baptist Faith. It was in the Air Force that I decided I knew what was right and wrong and God didn’t have a place in my life. I would continue that path until Brain Sumner, a professional skater, came to be the one who showed me the light of Christ. That day, God spoke to me and told me the difference between being a Christ follower and Religion. I have a wonderful wife, Carrie and two beautiful daughters Carley and Aubrey. I am so proud to walk in Christ with my family and Forgiven Skate Church.
With 4 kids (Jet, Elliot, Kyrie, Cora) and a loving wife, I live my life working towards God's plan for my life. I started skating at about 12 years old, quit around 20, and started again at 32. I am self employed as of this year. Most of my time is spent working and hanging with my family. Skate boarding has always been a part of my life and now I use it for God's work.
Josh Klinglesmith is a very gifted filmographer from Anadarko, Oklahoma. His experience in the skate culture and business is untouched. Josh is also a very passionate follower of Jesus Christ and has a heart of gold. We are very lucky to have his leadership and experience here at Forgiven.
Kyle is a student pastor here in the OKC metro area and has been working in local church ministry for 15 years. Kyle connected to Forgiven Skate Church in 2016 when he was looking for a place for his son to skate. Kyle is a gifted communicator and thinks he is a expert skate teacher even though he doesn't skate, LOL. Kyle is married to Audra and they have 2 kids Ella and Kash.
My wife, Aimee, and I love sharing life with others and serving in ministry. We have a very outgoing family with three daughters and one son. They all love to skateboard and share their hearts they have for Jesus and all his children. I have owned my own business since I was 12. I love it! We love to travel and spend time with our families. I was called to ministry when I was 17 and have been involved in multiple areas of ministry and church plants. I am so excited to be a part of Forgiven Skate Church and can’t wait to see what all God does through this family!
I've been skating since I was 7 years old. I gave my life to Christ when I was 16. I stopped skating for two years when I turned 20 and recently picked it back up. I found Forgiven and got to get involved with my two favorite things!
First and foremost Brett and Heather are proud parents of Camden Mashore. Cam asked for his first board when he was 5 .. It took 1 trip to the skate park for him to find his daily grind. Since then we have been bringing Cam to Forgiven Skate Church every Saturday morning at Industrial Skatepark in downtown OKC. The culture of Forgiven is an awesome thing that supports the personal and spiritual growth of all who attend, but also their growth in skating! We fully support, love and take pride in everything Forgiven Skate Chuch is doing and is gonna do in the OKC metro.
My name is Ashley, I was born in Texas and raised in Edmond, Ok. I met my husband Israel in the summer of 2004 and we were married in the spring of 2007. Together we have 4 kids: Jet, Elliot, Kyrie, and Cora. I love all things related animals and hope to operate a functioning farm one of these days with chickens, goats, cows, horses, and much more. I love supporting my husband and kids as they work on and develop the things in life they are passionate about. Currently, I am the secretary for our own personal businesses and am happy to fill the secretary position for Forgiven Skate Church as well. I am on the board of a women’s ministry called Journey of Christian Women and am a co leader for the Deer Creek 4H group. I am continually impressed with how much this ministry is reaching out to others and loving on a great community. I hope to be a part this ministry in any way God calls me.
My name is Ryan Stephens. I was born and raised (for the most part) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I started skating when I was 16 years old. For a majority of my life I would have claimed I was an atheist until I gave my life to Christ at the age of 18. I was also called to be a missionary when I was 21. I currently attend Randall University in Moore, Oklahoma and I'm pursuing a degree in Intercultural Studies. I spend my spare time either skating, playing soccer, or reading into subjects like apologetics, philosophy, or science. I have been involved in skate ministry for 7 years and hope to one day have a skate ministry else where in the world. I believe that skateboarders are an overlooked demographic of people who could make a significant impact on the people around them if they are reached with the gospel effectively.
Forgiven Skate Church meets at Industrial Skatepark in Downtown, OKC every Saturday.
